Why Pilates?

Pilates is simply one of the best and safest exercise programs that a woman can do both during pregnancy and after giving birth. It is a "whole body" approach to physical fitness designed to strengthen and stretch the muscles; improve posture, balance, and coordination; increase endurance; invigorate the mind; and, enlighten the spirit.

During pregnancy, a woman's body is changing dramatically in response to the growing baby. These changes can cause discomfort and misalignment, resulting in decreased energy levels, aches and pains, breathlessness and tight muscles. Pilates will help alleviate these symptoms and prepare the body for labor and giving birth.

After delivery, Pilates will help new moms regain their pre-pregnancy energy and fitness levels, while promoting a quick recovery of the pelvic floor muscles and improving core strength and muscle tone.

Our Program

Epiphany Pilates Prenatal & Postnatal Program includes the following:

Clients will learn equipment settings as well as proper transitions for optimal flow between exercises while building strength, preparing the body for labor and delivery, and recovering after baby is born. Previous Pilates experience encouraged. Suggested pre-requisites and/or co-requisites include three (3) private/semi-private Pilates sessions and six (6) Prenatal Pilates Mat classes.
