Bring a Mom to Class Week, May 14-20th

Our annual "Bring a Mom to Class Week" is back! It's so easy for moms to lose themselves in the hustle and bustle of day-to-day family life, whether we have a newborn or college-aged child. Our first instinct will always be 'my baby comes first' no matter how big or small our baby is today; however, it is important for moms to also take care and nurture themselves. We must find the time to restore and rejuvenate in order to maintain our health and happiness so that we can ultimately be the best versions of ourselves as we nurture our families.

As a 'thank you' to the incredible moms in our community, Epiphany Pilates would like to welcome our clients to invite a mom - that's any mom, whether it's your mom, your sister, your aunt or your friend - to join us in the studio. From Sunday, May 14th, until Saturday, May 20th, bring a mom to our Pilates Mat, Pilates Circuit, Vinyasa Yoga, or Barre classes for FREE.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to share some quality time with a special mom in your life. Registration is easy - after signing-up for an account on the Schedule page, add the "Mom's Week" Membership to your account and book any group class during the week.

Join us Sunday, May 21, 2017, from 2:00pm until 3:30pm for our next FREE community class event, a special women's self defense workshop. This event is designed to provide women and girls of all ages the knowledge, training and instinctive techniques needed to protect themselves in various situations. Participants will learn a range of practical self-defense techniques and, most importantly, how to defend themselves against larger adversaries.


This 90-minute workshop will be offered by Sterling D. Tilley, Jr, a U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran who holds Black Belts in Tae kwon do and Hapkido. He also has extensive training in counter Sambo and combat JuJutsu. Sterling is currently teaching self-defense workshops at the U.S. State Department to diplomatic security personnel and out-going Foreign Service Officers.

There are so many factors in our daily lives that seem to work against the healthy habits that we want to pursue, whether it be exercising regularly, eating healthier, getting enough sleep or practicing mindfulness.

We often rely on “willpower” alone to overcome these barriers; and, when we don’t succeed, we turn the blame on ourselves, assuming that we’re just not strong enough.

Looking around us, we see people unable to lose weight or stop smoking, and we wonder if changing our habits is even possible. Yet some people do succeed -- and it’s not because of some kind of special personality trait, but because they have learned how to set themselves up for success.

During this 90-minute interactive workshop, our very own Patricia Linderman will share proven strategies that have helped her and others adopt new, healthier habits -- and most importantly, stick to them over the long term. You’ll leave the workshop with numerous specific, practical ideas that you can implement immediately to continue on your journey toward your healthiest, most radiant self.

Hometown Heroes Program

For a long time, we have strived to find ways to say "thank you" to those in our community who selflessly serve the public on a day-to-day basis. It is with great honor and pleasure that we announce the Epiphany Pilates Hometown Heroes Program. This program is open to first responders - police, firefighters, and EMTs; active duty military and their spouses; K-12 teachers; and, registered nurses. Each hometown hero is eligible to receive 10% off our monthly membership fees.* Our hope is that they find a place to restore, rejuvenate, and strengthen their bodies at the studio. Mommy & Me Pilates - New Class this Winter!

Bringing home baby is an amazing and awesome experience. Nothing compares to all of the smiles, gurgles and butterfly kisses. However, caring for a newborn can be overwhelming and stressful at times. It's difficult to fit in exercise and to find time to socialize with other moms who can relate to the day-to-day ups and downs of being a new mom. It takes a village - the value of a supportive community to the health and wellbeing of new moms cannot be underestimated. 

Epiphany Pilates wants to be a part of your village and is pleased to announce a new addition to our comprehensive Prenatal & Postnatal Program. Our new Mommy & Me Pilates class is designed to help new moms rejuvenate and restore their bodies, and meet other new local moms. Each class provides a great opportunity to bond with baby while realigning the pelvis, reactivating the core, and strengthening and stretching the entire body after delivery. Designed for moms and babies, from age 6 weeks until walking, each Mommy & Me Pilates class features exercises that incorporate the weight of baby to tone and sculpt muscles.

Mommy & Me Pilates will be offered on Saturday's at 11:15am during our Winter 2017 Schedule, from January 2nd until April 12th, during two (2) 6-week sessions. To have a sneak peek at all of the fun, we are offering a special “Taste of Mommy & Me Pilates” on Sunday, January 1st at 4pm. For more information or to register, contact us today!

Epiphany Pilates is pleased to offer a new, complimentary 6-class series designed to provide a thorough introduction to the movement principles of Pilates and basic exercises. Our Intro to Pilates Mat class will be held throughout November and December on six (6) Sunday's at 10am. Join us for one or all of these. This is the perfect opportunity to introduce friends and family members to Pilates. All participants, whether beginners or advanced practitioners, are sure to gain an enhanced understanding of Pilates and how it can improve our overall fitness and day-to-day activities.

The evidence is clear that expectant moms who exercise regularly not only feel better and move better during their pregnancies, but labor for less time than women who do not exercise during pregnancy and require fewer epidurals, episiotomies, and cesarean deliveries. Now research shows that the benefits of prenatal exercise also extend to the baby. A study published last month in the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology revealed that babies born to women who exercised regularly during their pregnancies had more mature brain development than babies born to women who remained sedentary throughout their pregnancies. The team of researchers at the University of Montreal who conducted the study found that the newborns of exercising moms had enhanced responses to both sound discrimination and auditory memory.


Epiphany Pilates offers a comprehensive Prenatal & Postnatal Program that includes specially-designed Pilates mat, Pilates equipment, and barre fitness classes for new and expectant moms. Each class consists of safe exercises to provide overall conditioning while strengthening and stretching all of the muscles that support proper alignment of the pelvis, including the deep abdominal muscles. Our program is not only designed to help prepare a woman's body for birth and to promote a quick recovery after birth, it may just make for smarter babies too.
